对于大对象Minor GC的疑问



一个很简单的GC测试,但是没有打印出预期的效果。
JDK1.8.0_131,JVM参数如下:

-Xmx50m -Xms50m -Xmn8m -XX:SurvivorRatio=2 -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGC

public static void main(String[] args) { Object[] list = new Object[10]; for(int i=0; i<10 ; i++) { System.out.println(">>>>>>>>>>" + i); list[i] = new byte[3*1024*1024]; } }

console打印如下:

虽然最终看到对象进入了老年代,但是Minor GC的过程都没有打印出来,如果将new byte[310241024] 改为 new byte[110241024],即如下如所示:

可以看到有清楚的Minor GC的过程,这是为什么呢?是JVM对这种大对象做了优化以至于直接分配至老年代了吗?

-XX:+PrintGCDetils -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:gc.log加上这三个参数,可以打出gc日志;这个应该是因为S区的内存为2M,导致这个对象直接进入老年代
